The Department of Pakistan Studies is established department of Women University Swabi. It is established in 2017. The Department of Pakistan Studies basically deals with the various political, social and cultural arrangements in Pakistan through which people govern their lives which will help them to fulfill their economic and socio-cultural need. It reaches too many levels from the evolution of political philosophy and the character of contemporary political concepts to the problem of development in emerging nation, from the crisis of governs in Pakistan to the interactions of state, society and system in international.
Pakistan Studies syllabus introduces learners to the history, culture, geography, environment and development of Pakistan. They learn about Pakistan’s rich heritage and cultural influences, and about the events which have shaped national identity. Through their studies learners also gain an understanding of historical skills and concept, and examine different interpretations of historical events. Learners also consider the geography of Pakistan and the environmental and department issues facing the country. This will encourage a better understanding of the interaction between economy and environment, an understanding enhanced by the study of different source material and perspectives. This syllabus gives all learners an appreciation of the heritage, the challenges and opportunities facing Pakistan. The department envisions female student with an extensive understanding of the world and its diverse cultures through their critical analytical confident and keen perception which they will gain from the courses offered.
The department offers courses that develop students on the ideas of great thinker to the problems of cities, war and peace, democracy and authoritarian political system international politics and economy, human rights, women and politics, Pakistan politics and foreign policy and other regions. Equipped with the best theoretical and practical knowledge during the course of their degree. Federal &Provincial public sector and semi-government organizations and line departments like Higher Education Department, Universities, and Colleges Higher Secondary Schools. Civil Bureaucracy including the Cabinet Division, Prime Minister Secretariat, President House, Parliament ,Supreme Court ,High Courts, Provincial Secretariats, Provincial Directorates. Pakistan Studies has wide scope across the world as various universities in United State and the United Kingdom have research groups busy in academics and research related activities on Pakistan Studies (AIPS)at the University of Wisconsin-Madison,established since1973 and British Association for Pakistan Studies that was established in 1989.Similarly China has established eight Pakistan Studies Centers in China which are working on different aspects of Pakistan.
