Department of Economics

Introduction

The Department of Economics is one of the pioneer departments in Women University Swabi. It was established in September 2014 and began functioning on the 27th of that month. The department successfully offers its M.Sc program and will soon launch its BS (Hons) program. At the Department of Economics, we emphasize quality teaching in economic theory and quantitative methods of economic analysis and research, aligned with global standards of teaching and research in the field of Economics.

Vision

The M.Sc Economics is a distinctive two-year program providing instruction and training to address the growing need for economists in public and financial sectors. The department’s objective is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the subject, a solid grasp of economic theory, analytical tools, applied economics, and statistical techniques. The program design ensures instruction in core subjects and offers students options for specialization based on their interests and staff availability.

Mission

To broaden the opportunities for Pakistani females through affordable, high-quality education and training in the field of Economics. The Department of Economics aims to achieve a leadership position among public sector universities by enhancing access to Economics education while maintaining academic excellence and global standards.
