Women University Swabi Signs MoU with National Human Development Centre

Women University Swabi (WUS) has signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Human Development Centre (NHCD) to promote literacy, community uplift, and women’s empowerment through education. The ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Ghazala Yasmeen, Vice Chancellor WUS, and Dr. Sania Zaheer Ali, Additional Director ORIC. NHCD was represented by Mr. Quaid Khan, Deputy Director Operations, and Mr. Syed Wahid Shah, Assistant Director Literacy, along with Dr. Rehana, Deputy Director Academics WUS.

Discussion regarding literacy and community engagement initiatives.

Under this partnership, WUS will implement the Higher Education Commission’s (HEC) "Each One Teach One" initiative. Every WUS student will voluntarily teach at least one illiterate woman from her community, directly supporting the national literacy movement.

The initiative reaffirms the University’s commitment to social inclusion, empowerment, and sustainable community development. It also aligns with global Sustainable Development Goals including SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 5 (Gender Equality). Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Ghazala Yasmeen praised the ORIC team for facilitating this important collaboration.
